Rahab Nyawira was released on 15th September 2017 from Lang’ata Women’s Prison, where she had been an inmate for 6 years. Lang’ata is the largest women’s prison in Kenya, hosting all categories of offenders.
On her arrival at Lang'ata Rahab was considered someone to be feared. However during her time there she trained as a paralegal with APP and on her release was considered a hard-working role-model.
APP supported Rahab throughout her studies with access to tutors, textbooks and practical classroom support.
Rahab then went onto use the skills she gained to support fellow inmates, in APP’s Legal Aid Clinic.
